The Wilcom F6230A Visual Fault Locator is a lightweight, hand-held visible laser light source used to isolate high losses & faults in fiber cables. This pen style VFL emits a beam of red light into a fiber so breaks can be seen as a glowing red light. This visual fault locator can be used with either single mode or multimode cable sections and is recommended for cable lengths up to 8 km. The Wilcom Visual Fault Locator is extremely useful for identifying tight bends or crimps, faulty connectors, damaged components, bad splices and fiber breaks. The F6230A is equipped with a universal style optical port connector which allows any connector style with a 2.5mm ferrule to be used.
The Wilcom™ F6230A Visual Fault Locator is a handheld, pencil-shaped device that features a universal connector for testing all optical connector configurations and verifying continuity and validity of patch cables for problems. The F6230A uses a continuous or modulated 1Hz output and a Class II 635nm laser which will illuminate fibers up to 8 km with a wavelength of 650 nm. This device has an output power of more than -4 dBm into SMF-28 fiber and a spectral width of up to 5 nm. Runs on a single AA alkaline battery.
